We thought we’d finish off our Christmas shopping today so visited Brent Cross in the hope that a mid-week shop would be quiet. We were wrong and it was very busy. Big Brother visited the (free) Santa’s Grotto and we have a rather sulky photograph to show for it.
While we were there I picked up some Gingerbread men biscuits in a bag from John Lewis. John Lewis seem to be stocking lots of gingerbread biscuits this year and also sell gingerbread house and heart decorations and extra large gingerbread men. The hand decorated gingerbread men biscuits are presented in a cellophane bag tied with ribbon.
So they look pretty and, like every other gingerbread product, didn’t last long enough so I can’t remember how many were in the bag. The taste was quite disappointing and not very gingery. The ingredients include ginger and mixed spices, but for an expensive £3.50 per bag I say save your money and make your own. I have a great gingerbread biscuit recipe here.
