I’ve been dying to try my hand at felt biscuits ever since I saw them on the cover of Mollie Makes, which were designed by Ouissi Gresty. The patterns were quite simple so I bought a copy of her book ‘Felt biscuits’ but I found it a bit disappointing. It’s a small book and only covers patterns for five biscuits (pink wafer, bourbon, shortcake, custard creams and a jam sandwich) but does include a pattern for a biscuit tray and tin. Personally I would have liked more biscuit patterns (garibaldi, rich tea, chocolate digestive, etc) or the patterns which featured in Mollie Makes, rather than the biscuit tray. The book is nicely illustrated but the page numbers don’t match with the instructions and it just feels like it’s been written in a hurry.
However, I love my felt biscuits which totally confused Edward when I put them on a plate to photograph! They’re also a lovely simple project which don’t need much concentration if you fancy making some whilst catching up on Sunday night tv.

October 10, 2011 at 8:26 pmI love the pink wafers… am so sorry that the book was a disappointment. Have you tried looking at your local council library reservations, I have found some fabulous books on the Essex library system and for us it is free 🙂
