My baby bucket list

Posted on August 16, 2011August 14, 2011 by jenny

Having a second baby is scary stuff. Having one child is hard enough but I know there are gaps in the day which I can reclaim for myself. Two children, though… it’s difficult to get my head round. I’ve been re-reading the Second Baby Survival Guide but with 15 weeks to go I thought I would write a list of the things I want to do before the arrival of Second Baby.

Probably shouldn’t be wasting time on this but I must have a clear out or else there won’t be any room for Second Baby

Ebay/Amazon Marketplace as much as possible (see above)

Have a massage, possibly see an osteopath too

Get a hair cut for those all important new baby photographs

Do my Christmas shopping, well I’m not going to feel like it when I’m holding Second Baby and looking after Edward am I?!

Spend sometime preparing myself mentally for the csection and subsequent recovery

Sort childcare for Edward whilst I’m in hospital/after Second Baby comes

Purchase the double buggy and Stokke Tripp Trapp/newborn set so we’re all prepared 🙂

Have a date with my husband – ALONE – this will be a first but would be amazing. Just need to find a babysitter…

Make the most of my time with Edward before I ruin his life by making him a Big Br0ther

Put my feet up in anticipation of my feet swelling to huge proportions

Hope you manage to do everything on your list. I would add put your feet up as much as possible! Not easy when you’ve got another one I know but much less easy after!!

I was the same thinking having the twins would ruin my daughter’s life but she seems to love it. She can’t remember what it was like before they were around and says she loves them all the time. I have always tried to make sure she gets her own time and doesn’t miss out on anything we would have done before she was born. I’m sure your son will love the new arrival too.

Hope, you will do everything you planned! My children are 14 years apart so it is a lot easier. All will be ok. Good luck!

A great list – I think I’ll make one of my own. Please let us know how many you manage to get through!
