days out giveaway vintage West Sussex

Vintage at Goodwood

Last week I was lucky enough to win tickets to the first ever Vintage at Goodwood festival via a competition on the Tesco Clothing website! Vintage at Goodwood is a music and fashion led celebration of creative British cool from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s & 80s. I was VERY excited as I really wanted to go but couldn’t justify the cost with a new baby and being on maternity leave.

Vintage at Goodwood

Goodwood is in the middle of some beautiful countryside and after we parked up and made our way to the site we were greeted with a pop-up High Street which was at the heart of the festival site. Shops included two of my favourites – John Lewis and Cath Kidston – and Clothkits workshops were going on!

The site was huge and split into different zones of activities, places to eat and drink, shop, and very posh toilets!

Signposts everywhere!

There were loads of shops selling vintage clothes, furniture and handmade lovelies! I could have spent a fortune and got lots of inspiration for future sewing projects.

We ate vintage style burgers and hotdogs. We also bought vintage style sweets!

We admired lots of beautifully restored vintage caravans and airstreams. I wonder if I can persuade my husband to put one in our back garden??

We got rained on!

Vintage fairground rides. I insisted my husband try all the old games and win us a cuddly toy. He was finally lucky on the coconut stall.

Plenty of vintage cars, motorbikes, hot rods and trucks to keep my husband busy. I think he photographed every one!

Tired.

There was soooo much to see and do at Vintage at Goodwood. Films, talks, catwalk shows, live music and plenty of workshops and activities for kids. It definitely pays to go for three days so you can see everything.

Almost everyone we saw had dressed up for the occasion and we also saw plenty of celebs. We had a lovely time and I would recommend it to everyone as there was so much going on to meet everyone’s tastes. Perhaps next year I’ll get my mum to babysit so we can stay up later!
