Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 247}

I love to start the week by writing Five Happy Things. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. I found last week a little tough. I had an interview for a job I really wanted, but didn’t get. Rejection can be so tough, especially professionally. Onwards and upwards though, today is another week.

Five Happy Things {Week 247}

Thanks to Sports Day and an Inset Day, I only worked two days last week. I totally wasted the Inset Day but perhaps I needed a day to do nothing. I caught up on Netflix and booked some workshops to do at the Knitting & Stitching Show in October.

My son had his cast removed which he was really happy about. He had it on for 4 and a half weeks and has to take it easy for the next 4 weeks. He’s really missing his normal activities and can’t wait to get back to normal.

We’ve been at a bit of a loss for something decent to watch lately. I’m watching Love Island and we’re really enjoying the second season of Killing Eve. Did you know that Designated Survivor is back on Netflix? It’s season three already and one episode in and we’re loving it. Can’t wait for time to watch some more.

We didn’t really know what to do with ourselves during the heatwave on Saturday. It reached just over 34° on Saturday which is crazy! We managed a quick trip to the park but it was too hot really. Instead we headed to our local toy shop, I bought some Lego sets and we went home to spend the afternoon playing and building. I had my eye on a Fantastic Beasts set for months and it was in the sale, so the perfect time to buy it.

Over the weekend we visited Hughenden Manor as we’re National Trust members. It’s one of my favourite properties and is really close so it’s nice to just pop in sometimes. The kids love exploring the walled garden and we bought some food and ate it overlooking the Chiltern landscape. It’s really pretty and it felt lovely to be out enjoying the good weather.

    Yay for a 2 day work week! And the cast being taken off – sucks having to be in plaster throughout the summer when it’s all hot. How was Sports Day?
    I have heard about Designated Survivor — need to add it to my watch list!
