We’ve had a crazy Easter so far. This year we celebrated at home with the whole family. We had gifts, a visit from the Elf (he’s not just for Christmas you know!), and a few Easter egg hunts – thank you Co-op for sending us so many supplies!

There was plenty of down time with my 6 and 8 year olds too. Easter is fun but they also need quiet time playing with their toys. We had a lot of fun with our Spring time Sylvanian Families sensory tray so we thought we would have more seasonal fun with our Sylvanians this Easter.

A few weeks ago I found a decent sized twig in the garden and spray painted it with white paint. I stuck the end in an empty cotton reel and made a simple seasonal tree for the Sylvanians. It was just like our own version, just smaller. I found some miniature eggs in our stash of Easter decorations and let my daughter decorate for Easter.

She loved her little Easter tree. We’ve been collecting other Easter things to add in to her play and the little eggs were a great addition.

I picked up this little Easter set from eBay. The little hot cross buns are so cute!

She used the left over eggs to hold a little Easter egg hunt for her Sylvanians around Beechwood Hall. We found as many buckets as we could for them to put their eggs in.

Then she hid the eggs and let her favourite Sylvanian babies find them. My daughter had so much fun with her seasonal Sylvanian play.

Have you ever given your children’s favourite toys a seasonal makeover? It’s fun for them to carry their own activities into play!

I love both your creativity – what a fantastic idea! It’s so nice to see children doing and enjoying something I’d have done 25 years ago 🙂
