Easy pipe cleaner bird feeders

Easy pipe cleaner bird feeders

Now Summer has officially arrived it’s lovely to see our crafts being inspired by nature and our garden. We love to attract the birds to our garden so made some easy bird feeders after school today. It’s a quick and easy craft but a great way to improve those fine motor skills.

We used:
pipe cleaners
Honey Loops breakfast cereal

I poured some of the Honey Loops into a smaller container and sat my children down with an assortment of pipe cleaners. They threaded the cereal onto the pipe cleaners, one by one.

It was a lovely craft because I got to hear all about their day at school whilst they were doing it.

When they had filled up their pipe cleaner they twisted the two ends together to form a loop.

Our bird feeders were then hung around the branches on our little tree for the birds.

I’ve been neglecting my birds recently so will have to dig out the pipe cleaners and give this a try, is it easy enough for a two and a half year old?

It should be a greta craft for their motor skills, just make sure you bend over the end of the pipe cleaner first.

It looks like a cute little necklace but I love that it can be used to feed the birds. Such a cute Hack x
