Monday happy things {Week 135}

decorating for Star Wars Day

Happy May Day! Last week was a full week with everyone back at work and school and was therefore pretty tiring. Thank goodness for a lovely long Bank Holiday weekend! Time for my weekly round up of the 5 things which have made me happiest.

Monday happy things – Week 135

Last week my son started Gardening Club and I managed to get my daughter a place at Street Dance. This means we are ridiculously busy after school but I’m glad they have the opportunity to try new things. The choir I sing with started again for the Summer term so I was really happy to go and see my friends and start to learn some new music. I think this term is going to go really quickly. I went to a meeting about Year 2 SATs this week and I can’t wait for them to be over. We’ve been planning our Summer holidays adventures and I can’t wait!

I may have forgotten that my little car needed it’s MOT but my local garage managed to squeeze me in and my car passed! It’s definitely the small things which have been making me happy this week.

making tooth fairy mail

My son had his first tooth taken out by the dentist on Friday. It happened so quickly he didn’t even feel anything! I was a little emotional about his losing his first tooth but I think he was quite happy to lose it and feel like everyone else in his Year at school. Of course this also meant that the Tooth Fairy made her first visit to our house, leaving some fairy dust and a one pound coin.

We can’t help but be excited for Star Wars Day on May 4th. This year we have decorated our house with a little tree covered in Star Wars decorations and a Star Wars toy wreath, which I shall be sharing soon.

a trip to Ikea over the Bank Holiday

Yesterday we went to Ikea and bought some new furniture for our daughter’s room. For some reason she just doesn’t play in her room, preferring to play in her brother’s room or downstairs. Now she has more storage and her toys are a little tidier so I’m really hoping this will encourage her to enjoy her room a bit more. IT wouldn’t be a Bank Holiday weekend without some DIY 🙂

Have a great week!

    Aw I love posts like these! I’m so glad your son didn’t feel too much having his tooth out. We have had Year 2 SATS meetings too and I to will be so glad when they are over and done with! It just puts so much stress and pressure one everyone.

    What a cute Tooth Fairy envelope, I might have to borrow your idea as I usually just put the coin under the pillow! 🙂
