Creating an Easter crate for kids

I’ve always enjoyed celebrating Easter. Since our children came along Easter has got bigger and bigger. Before there was giving Easter eggs and enjoying a family meal. Now there are Easter Egg hunts, Easter baking, Easter crafts and gifts. My kids love Easter as much as I do but I’m glad it’s not on the scale of Christmas.

I thought it would be fun to put the children’s gifts into an Easter crate this year. I did something similar with a Christmas Eve crate which they enjoyed. So today I’m sharing our Easter version!

Creating an Easter crate for kids

What you put in your crate will obviously depend on the ages of your children. I used a wooden crate from Tiger Stores and gave it a seasonal makeover with the help of some Pinty Plus Chalk Paint Spray in mustard.

Pinty Plus Chalk Paint Spray is really simple to use. It is touch dry in just 20 minutes so perfect for makeover projects such as my Easter crate. I gave it two coats of paints and made sure I painted both the inside and outside. We’ve had some gorgeous weather recently so this was a quick and easy project. The Pinty Plus Chalk Paint Spray in mustard is a pretty Spring colour and definitely improved the look of our crate.

The Easter crate is pretty large so I’m going to fill in with the recent haul of things I bought in Tiger Stores and Hema. My children are now on their Easter holidays so I’ll be giving the crate to them tomorrow. Inside they will find Easter stickers, decorations, washi tape and crafts to keep them busy.
