I am looking forward to some extra crafting time over the Easter holidays. We have a steady stream of visitors who like to craft too so I’m very excited to share with them the latest book from Clare Youngs. Titled Folded Book Art: 35 beautiful projects to transform your books, this book is packed with ideas to create cards, display scenes, decorations, gifts, and more.
My craft shelf is full of books by Clare Youngs, I really like her style and this is another great book for paper lovers.
Folded Book Art by Clare Youngs
Create a fantastic world of delight with these 35 inspiring projects – all made from old books! Get folding and make a beautiful bird, a sailor’s knot and a shining star. They look impressive but are deceptively simple to make. From there you can learn how to make scenes such as a fairytale castle, a winter reindeer and tiny paper mushrooms and ferns. Finally there are ideas for transforming the pages cut from books to make greeting cards, a botanical print lampshade and hanging birds.
The book is divided into 3 chapters: folding books, making scenes and refashioned pages. All the projects have helpful step-by-step instructions and illustrations so all you need are a few old books and you are ready to start. You can easily find second hand books in charity shops or at car boot sales. There are so many different ways to use books so I know this book will provide some fun inspiration. I really want to try some book folding, the paper hydrangeas and floral stitches on paper. If you loved her previous book Book Art, then this is a lovely follow up.
Folded Book Art by Clare Youngs was published by CICO Books on March 7th, priced £14.99.
