Christmas Monday Happy List Paper craft

Monday Happy List – Week 112

paper cutting in progress

This week we sat down and wrote letters to Father Christmas. I don’t think we’ve ever done this before but the children always receive the NSPCC personalised letters from Santa (which my mum organises for them). I found a free printable via Pinterest and they both enjoyed writing their letters. My son took it a little too seriously and started looking up everything he wanted on Amazon so he could be sure to get the name right.

As we’ve now finished our kitchen renovations we’ve started on the living room. As if this time of year isn’t busy enough we’re also going to be painting the living room and buying some new cabinets. One evening we ripped our nasty old fireplace out and took it to the tip. The living room looks strange without it but we’ve have filled the hole so we can start painting at the end of the week.

I’v spent quite a bit of the week paper cutting which is my new obsession. In fact I’ve cut out so many things that I’ve made two birthday presents and some cards with them all. I even took down some of my quilts and hung up my paper cuts so I can see them.

On Saturday I was lucky to attend the annual Mumsnet Blogfest courtesy of Coca Cola. As a huge fan of Diet Coke I was absolutely delighted they sponsored my ticket as I couldn’t afford to go. I will be writing about it soon but I had a lovely day hanging out with my blogging friends, heard some wonderful speakers, and got to find out more about the work Coca Cola are doing to reduce the amount of sugar in their drinks.

Yesterday we took our son who is a Beaver to the Royal British Legion Remembrance Day Memorial Service. This was the first time we had been to the Open Air Chapel which is near us. It was established by the Founder of our local Scout group in memory of the local Scouts and youth who lost their lives in the Second World War. The Open Air Chapel was built by planting beech trees and was a lovely memorial. It felt like the perfect place to remember those who have lost their lives and I was super proud of my son for taking part with his fellow Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

Have a great week everyone!

This is a great post – I miss writing letters to Santa. I cannot wait until my nephew is old enough to write them 🙂
