Monday Happy List – Week 105

This past week has been a strange one. I’m still adjusting to both my children being at school. There was no time to relax at home though as our new kitchen was installed. We ordered it through Wickes and they had a cancellation which meant we were offered a really early slot or had the option of waiting another 6 weeks.

We went for the cancellation slot so spent last weekend packing away our kitchen in the spare room. It was interesting watching our new kitchen being installed and it’s looking quite good with just a few snags. We still have to tile the floor and walls and decide which Orla Kiely wallpaper we are putting up! My clever husband made us new window sills from off cuts of the oak wooden work top.

I managed to escape from the house for a few hours. Long enough to pop to Westfield London where I spotted the new Miffy range of clothes in H&M. My 4 year old loves Miffy so I couldn’t resist buying her the Miffy leggings and sequinned jumper which she loves.

My 4 year old enjoyed another week at school, this time taking a packed lunch every day and staying til just after lunch. She’s been having a lovely time and is full of beans when I pick her up. She’s making loads of new friends, enjoying all the new experiences of having lunch at school and playing in the playground. They have Phonics every day and I love how she’s recognising letters everywhere we go. Yesterday her older brother was helping her blend words and it’s lovely seeing how enthusiastic she is about learning.

With our extra hour together we have been crafting and de-cluttering. Her room is a terrible mess (not sure where she gets that from!) so we have gone through her clothes and soft toys and taken a lot of things she has grown out of to the charity shop. There may have been *3* trips to 3 different charity shops as I was so embarrassed about the amount of things she had grown out of.

Yesterday my son enjoyed a day at Longridge which is an activity centre near Marlow. He went with his Beaver group and tried kayaking and went out on a dragon boat. He was so tired when we picked him up but he had so much fun.

Phew, what a busy week. Fingers crossed for a quieter week this week!
