Orla Kiely in the kitchen

Orla Kiely designed kitchen bin

I was shopping this morning, managing to tick off more of my Back to School shopping list. I couldn’t help but look round the homeware department and found a few lovely Orla Kiely displays.

Our kitchen makeover is taking a lot of our free time. We are in desperate need of more storage and are hoping to move around a few of our white goods and squeeze in some extra cupboards. We’re having another consultation tomorrow and I’m beginning to feel excited about sorting this room out.

We’ve spent so long discussing it that I couldn’t help but start to plan some of the smaller features. I’m a huge fan of Orla Kiely and with her growing homeware I will be incorporating her design into our kitchen. We have two Brabantia bins which I’m reluctant to change, until I saw the Brabantia and Orla Kiely collaboration. Possibly my two favourite things combined – the retro look with contemporary features! I went for classic stem print, white on charcoal with an orange lid. The 12 litre is perfect for our recycling and fits neatly at the end of our kitchen.

I had a voucher so was able to pick up some more Orla Kiely items for the kitchen including the Orla Kiely flower ramekins and storage jars. They’ve already brightened my kitchen and I’m tempted to explore adding more colour with a customised Orla Kiely splashback.

I’ve had fun Pinning to my Orla Kiely Pinterest board but let me know if you’ve ever tried incorporating a favourite designer into your decor.
