Getting Festival ready with the Bratz Festival Vibes collection

Bratz Festival Vibes collection

This is the first year that my little 4 year old has heard about festivals. When we were on the Isle of Wight recently we saw them getting ready for the Isle of Wight Festival which surely marks the start of summer. Her older cousin was going so Little Sis was getting excited about festivals in general. Just in time to help us celebrate with some festival vibes at home and the Bratz Festival Vibes collection.

She was so happy to receive one of five brand new Bratz dolls, who came complete with two super cool festival outfits, accessories, and a children’s festival wristband. She was also sent everything she needed to design and create her very own festival look.

Cloe, Jade, Yasmin, Sasha and Raya have been counting down the days to the star-studded, sold-out, annual Bratz Music Festival. Each of their styles are inspired by their favourite genre of music: Cloe loves American country rock, Jade loves electro-pop, Sasha shakes it to top 40 dance music, Yasmin loves the 70s sound, and Raya loves to take it back even more with retro jazz!

High-energy Jade needs high-energy electronic beats! Yep, we received Jade who loves electro-pop. She pairs patterned leggings and an electric blue vinyl skirt with a fuzzy monster hoodie, and wears high-top sneakers with striped platforms. She comes with two complete outfits, alien purse, neon glasses, Happy face ear-rings, and her own hairbrush.

Make your own poncho

We were sent everything we needed to decorate our own poncho, which is surely a great British festival essential with our unpredictable weather. However we thought it would be fun to make Jade her own poncho too – so we did, using a clear recycling bag and some Duck Tape. First I made a paper template.

I made a few versions to make sure it fitted. I then used my template to cut out the plastic one, holding the seams together with colourful Duckling tape.

My 4 year old decorated the poncho with stickers left over from decorating her own one! I have never made anything quite so small and fiddly before but I think it turned out quite well.

We loved our festival crafting and have been inspired to do more. So far we have our dipped feathers and decorated teepee but there are so many more things to make!
