Receiving happy mail and random acts of kindness

Everyone loves to receive nice mail. My obsession with the mail started when I was much younger with penpals. I had tons of penpals and loved to swap postcards and stamps and find out more about people around the world. Over time this love of receiving mail has continued and I’ve taken part in a few sewing swaps, sending and receiving little handmade packages. I think that’s part of the reason I enjoy subscription boxes so much, happy mail makes a lovely change from those dreaded brown envelopes!

Since my children have come along I don’t seem to have so much time to spend on sending little care packages through the post. I still slip the odd little note in my son’s lunch box but I need to make more of an effort and get back to participating in swaps.

After happy mail my next favourite thing to receive is a lovely bunch of flowers. I’ve been the lucky recipient of the odd bouquet and nothing beats arranging them in a vase and enjoying watching them bloom over a few days.

growing flowers in wellies

We have a busy summer coming up and I’ve been looking for some lovely flowers to send. My poor husband will be going back to hospital for another operation, and then he has a few weeks off work whilst he recovers. Our garden is pretty much devoid of flowers (thanks kids!) but I’ve found a beautiful arrangement of flowers for him to enjoy. The Sweet William & Pink Germini bouquet is lovely and I think I could almost pass it off as hand-picked from a country cottage garden. There’s nothing like bringing a little bit of outside in and hopefully these will give him something pretty to look at and enjoy. What about you? Do you enjoy receiving flowers?

I love happy mail too! Even just a hand written letter makes my day! I use to have SO many penpals when I was growing up. I miss writing good old fashioned letters and sending little random packages to people.
The bouquet is a great idea!

I used to write letters a fair bit when I was growing up but these days email has definitely taken over, which is such a shame in many respects. As for flowers, yes I love to being presented with a decent bouquet – who doesn’t!? Tx
