Are you getting in the mood for Easter? We definitely are and have loved doing Springtime crafts. We’re all counting down the days until the school holidays start and we can all relax from the school routine.
I’ve been taking part in Easter egg hunts since I was little and I love the fact my children now enjoy it too. They both take a basket and go off around the house (and garden, weather permitting) to search for eggs to fill them with. Every year we seem to use different decorations and this year we have had a go at making some of our own.
I found these lovely arrow-shaped wooden plaques which I knew would make great signs for our Easter egg hunt. Whilst the children were at school I gave them a coat of Annie Sloan paint.
After school my 5 year old spotted them and asked if he could write on them. Years of typing away on my laptop means he probably has better hand writing than me so I was happy to oblige. We decided what to write on each arrow then he sat down and wrote on them with a permanent black pen.
I love that his hand writing gives the signs a really unique look and these may be something that I put away and keep for another year. My son is going to love seeing his handwriting a year down the line. The arrows came with jute string but I used some bakers twine, made holes on either of each sign and strung them together.
What do you think of his motivational signs? Would they encourage you to go hunting for Easter eggs?
Thank you to Baker Ross for sending us the Arrow Wooden Plaques kit to review. We think they are perfect for a mini festival in the garden, a birthday party, Easter Egg Hunt and so much more!
