baking gingerbread house

Monday happy things

We had a lovely half term but I was glad that my children went back to school and nursery today. We had a really busy week including visits from grand parents, a trip to the theatre and our cookery lesson with Ora.

Since the clocks have gone back I’m making sure our house is very hygge. I love this concept and it is one that I fully intend to embrace this winter. I picked up a cute gingerbread house tea light holder from Asda at the weekend which is providing a lovely seasonal feel to our mantelpiece.

Last week I attempted Salted Caramel cupcakes which were amazing. I just adore Salted Caramel, although not as much as gingerbread obviously.

I’ve been making time to read a couple of chapters of the latest book from Kate Morton, The Lake House, every evening.

The weekend was spent making a sweet little felt gingerbread house tissue box cover. I followed a pattern in Tis the Season to be Felty which is a lovely book featuring lots of lovely felt decorations to make.

Our after school treat was watching Nativity 3: Dude, Where’s My Donkey? which is out on DVD and Blu-ray today. We haven’t seen the other films in the franchise yet but it didn’t stop them enjoying the film, they were totally engrossed. I’m looking forward to watching more festive films and snuggling up on the sofa.

Have a good week everyone!

Ah, what a lovely way to spend half term. As much as I moan about all the Christmas adverts appearing, and all the Xmas activity beginning, I secretly LOVE it. Bring on the festivities!! xx
