Cheat creme brulee with Golden Oreos

I have received product from Oreo for this post. It is an entry to the Foodies100 Wonderfilled recipe challenge sponsored by Oreo, which marks the launch of two exciting new flavours: Peanut Butter and Golden. The delicious new flavours are available in all major supermarkets at an RRP of £1.08. To find out more, visit facebook.com/oreo

As a big fan of Oreo I’m happy to tell you that both flavours are yummy and go perfectly with a cup of tea. Our family favourite is the Golden Oreo which tastes a little like my favourite British biscuit. This weekend, to stop me from eating an entire packet, I’ve been experimenting with a few recipes. Today I am sharing my cheat Golden Oreo crème brûlée recipe.

Crème brûlée is one of my favourite desserts, there’s something about cracking that caramel top which I just love. However I haven’t got round to making it just yet. However, when I was eating a couple of Golden Oreos the crunch of the biscuit and vanilla flavouring reminded me of it so I thought I would combine the two.

Cheat crème brûlée with Golden Oreos ingredients:

Seriously Creamy Madagascan Vanilla Custard
3 tablespoons caster sugar
4 crushed Golden Oreos
How to make cheat crème brûlée with Golden Oreos:
Place 4 Golden Oreos into a plastic bag and smash them with a rolling pin. Pour the vanilla custard into a bowl and add the crushed Golden Oreos, mix well.

Pour the mixture into your ramekins or dish. Sprinkle a spoonful of caster sugar over the top of the custard and then caramelise with a chef’s blow torch.

The flavours go really well together. One day I will make a crème brûlée from scratch but I think my cheat version tastes just as good and is really quick and easy to whip up.
I would love to hear what you think of my Golden Oreo Wonderfilled crème brûlée.

I love creme brûlée and I love Oreos – although I’ve not actually tried the golden ones yet. I might have to print this off and not-so-subtlely leave it somewhere in the hopes it inspires my mum to make it for me..! Thanks for sharing! x
