baking days out Local Review London sewing

Monday happy things

Goodness me the weeks are going by so quickly. Thankfully my Monday Happy Things post is here to remind me of all the fun things we got up to the previous week.

Yesterday my daughter and I spent the day in London. We visited the Museum of Childhood to see Small Stories: At Home in a Dolls’ House. I love dolls houses and this was a beautiful exhibition covering  the small stories of 12 dolls’ houses from the past 300 years.

We also saw The Alice Look which was a much smaller display celebrating the 150th anniversary of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. There was a piece of the beautiful Gallymoggers Reynard fabric from the new Alice in Wonderland themed SS15 Collection by Liberty, a modern interpretation of Charles Voysey ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ print. Needless to say this has been bumped to the top of my fabric wish list.

Much more pocket friendly are my comfortable new bunny slippers from John Lewis. I seem to go through slippers really easily so fingers crossed these last longer than a few weeks.

I made a batch of tea bag biscuits, dipped in dark chocolate. Before I baked them I stamped them with my small alphabet stamps to sat EAT ME. Can you tell we’ve been inspired by reading Alice in Wonderland?

As well as baking I’ve been sewing a few little things. I stitched a felt garland of birds from a recent issue of Mollie Makes and have been planning a new nautical quilt too.
