Cath Kidston days out London

Monday happy things

My list of things making me happy is quite shallow this week –

– Last week I went to the Hobbycraft press show (on my own!). It’s not often that the children are both looked after and I’m invited to something I want to go to but it all worked out for once. I picked up some lovely samples from their new Easter range so I’m sure there will be a little giveaway of those soon.

– On the way home from the Hobbycraft show I just about managed to squeeze in a visit to my favourite Cath Kidston store in London’s Piccadilly. I was in search of a pair of gola trainers but couldn’t find them, which was probably lucky for my bank balance. I love Cath Kidston and found lots of covetable things. From a sweet felt rainbow pincushion to crochet clothes hangers, a divine ricrac skirt and embroidered jumper. But do you know what? I think I could make some of those things with a little effort. – I enjoyed a long overdue visit to HEMA as it’s been months since my last fix. I seriously love that shop and picked up a beautiful aqua notebook for my list making, Dutch biscuits, craft products for the children as well as birthday candles (we have lots of birthdays coming up!). It was all great value and pretty stylish too.

– Over the weekend we took a trip to the top of The Shard to admire the view over London and enjoyed afternoon tea in a posh London hotel. It was lovely to do something a little different in London and everyone enjoyed the delicious scones and cake as a reward for braving being so high up.

– It’s nearly half term. A week free from the school run makes me very happy. I can’t wait to get away, I’ve already packed a few essentials – sticker books for the children and a copy of Sinead Moriarty’sĀ The Secrets Sisters Keep! for me. Are you off anywhere nice? Take a look at Tots Too if you need some inspiration šŸ™‚

They were, although there were so many we had to bring a box of them home!
