Monthly Makes – November

You’re probably not surprised to hear that my Monthly Makes have had a decidedly festive feel this month.

The union jack cot quilt didn’t get finished in time for Little Sis’s birthday (bad mummy). It’s made it to the top of my WIP list for 2015 and I’m going to blog about my progress every month until it’s bound and quilted.

I have made some smaller projects. My favourite has to be the felt busy bag gingerbread house I made for my children. They absolutely love it and it’s really captured their imagination. I love it too but then I’m a huge fan of Wild Olive patterns, which I used to make it.

I’ve made a couple of squares for a collaborative quilt, one is a pieced gingerbread house and the other applique gingerbread cookies. I made two so whichever one isn’t needed I’m going to make into a small hanging for my quilt gallery wall.

I squeezed in a sweet EPP star decoration from another Wild Olive pattern, and made the 2014 Holiday Stitch Along Ornament Club by Betz White – a pincushion bakewell tart.

Two swap parcels were sent off so I had fun with a couple of scrabble tile name ornaments and I loved the Kaffe Fassett exhibition at the American Museum in Bath at the beginning of the month.

Not bad considering I’ve been busy with the PTA, my daughter’s 3rd birthday and finished the Christmas shopping. Bring on December!
