Cath Kidston homestyle interiors London vintage

Living the London Life

A couple of week ago I treated myself to a trip to the Cath Kidston flagship store at 180 Piccadilly. I say treated myself because I know I can never visit without buying something!

I like all the stores, I’ve visited a few *ahem* but the flagship store is my favourite. Despite being in a modern building it’s decorated with modern vintage, obviously. I particularly love the display of board games in the Kids section which as you know I’ve done in our own house. The walls of the shop are lined with distressed wooden doors and make use of vintage furniture to display their wares. They also have a cool Piccadilly print range which is only on sale in the flagship store and an amazing collection of vintage London tea towels which look brilliant framed on the walls. If I had the budget my house would definitely look like a Cath Kidston shop!

On my last visit I fell in love with the Cath Kidston London buses print so I treated myself to a new Oyster card holder and wallet. I find oilcloth really hard wearing and previous Cath Kidston accessories never seem to wear out. There seemed to be every imaginable product in the pattern and I’d love the iPhone and iPad case too! In fact, I’ve just seen the matching bed linen which I’d love for my son.

Anyway, I’m wondering if I could give our lounge a little London makeover. I love living in London and hop on the tube into the West End as often as possible. We already have a fun vintage London bus blind which I had framed and is currently perched over our fireplace.

I also have a collection of vintage items such as a lovely plastic red London toy bus and wooden stacking toy Beefeater. We’re planning on decorating this room next year so I’d better start planning, I think a new Pinterest board is in order for some London inspiration!

I’ve never visited a Cath Kidston store but maybe next time I am in London I will pay it a visit!

I adore your fireplace, the London bus blind is gorgeous, what a great idea to get it framed. Don’t spend too much time on Pinterest now 😉

I adore London and visited often before baby, but sadly we’re all the way up in the North East.
