Little Tikes 4-in-1 Trike Sports Edition

Little Sis was recently sent two brand new toys from Little Tikes to review and tell you about. She’s been having great fun with both of them – the Little Tikes 4-in-1 Trike Sports Edition and the Little Tikes Jelly Bean. We’ve written a blog post about each item as we felt they deserved it!

Little Tikes 4 in 1 Trike Sports Edition

Little Tikes’ new 4-in-1 Trike Sports Edition are designed to grow as a child’s skills develop. With detachable handle, seat belt, durable tyres, packing bag, soft seating and drinks holder – it’s great for babies and beginner riders! Moving toys are brilliant for helping children have fun whilst they grow. All Little Tikes trikes and ride-ons encourage balancing, motor development and steering skills. The 4-in-1 Trike even grows with your child, through four key learning stages:

Guided – 9+ months
Learning – 12+ months
Developing – 18+ months
Independent – 30+ months

Little Sis is now 30 months so the trike is in the third stage, she doesn’t need the waist bar but she still needs a hand with steering and pedalling. She enjoys using the trike in the garden but we have also taken it to the local Lido a couple of times so she can race her brother on his new bike.

We recently met Dr. Maggie Redshaw, the Little Tikes Play Expert, who shared her top trike tips with us:

Trike Guided Stage (9 months +) Early on, use the guided learning stage, to let your baby have an all-around view while feeling safe and well-supported with Little Tikes’ safety harness and handlebars. It’s a great opportunity for them to be moving, getting a look at the world and enjoying the bigger spaces of places like the park! Make sure your little one is comfortable and knows the foot rest is there to push against while he or she is on the move- the first ride can be exciting and this offers some reassurance. Ideal for beginner riders, Little Tikes’ 4-in-1 trike is designed to grow with a child’s ability.

Trike Learning Stage (12 months +) The learning stage, allows your child to experience pedalling and co-ordinate their leg and foot movements as they move forward. The Little Tikes 4-in-1 trike’s ability to adapt with a child’s development means you can let them have a bit more control and choice about where to go. You are definitely still in charge, though it may not always seem so. It is an exciting thing being on the move.

Trike Developing Stage (18 months +) By the developing stage, your child will be learning to co-ordinate their hands turning and feet pedalling at the same time, though look out for when they get distracted by something and give help when needed with the Little Tikes 4-in-1 trike’s parent push control feature.

Trike Independent Stage (30 months +) By the independent stage your child is in control, with freedom to roll on the Little Tikes 4- in-1 trike’s durable, quiet ride tyres. As he or she moves under their own steam, you’ll see new levels of confidence, coordination and skill. Let them know how pleased you are at their progress, though remember to stay nearby!Remember: the trikes offer a great way of helping your little ones to see and explore more of the wider world and you can both enjoy chatting about what you see, where you go and the friends you meet!

The Little Tikes 4-in-1 Trike Sports Edition has a RRP £99.99 and is suitable from age 9 months.

It does sound good – but looks as if she would outgrow it soon from the photos? Love the idea that it will last for at least a couple of years though.

I really love these little trikes – they look so much fun! Wish they’d have had things like this 14 years ago when my eldest was small.
