{DVD review} Thomas & Friends: Spills & Thrills

My son turned 4 yesterday and received a whole heap of Thomas toys amongst other things. He’s always loved the adventures of Thomas and his friends which is why he was very excited when a copy of the new ‘Thomas & Friends: Spills & Thrills’ DVD landed on our doormat.

SPILLS_AND_THRILLS_DVDPeep! Peep! Join your favourite engines on the Island of Sodor as Thomas & Friends find themselves in an array of messy mishaps. Available from 31 March, Thomas & Friends: Spills & Thrills includes 6 exciting never-before-seen episodes from series 17 and introduces brave new steam engine, Porter.

It’s full steam ahead as James tries to prove he is not afraid of the dark before getting more than he bargained for when he volunteers to pull the night-time Kipper Express. Stephen’s need for speed and Salty’s need to impress send them both into some sticky situations, while Hiro shows Diesel that nice engines really do finish first. It’s full steam ahead for Spills & Thrills on the Island of Sodor!

Episodes include:

  • Away From The Sea
  • The Smelly Kipper
  • No More Mr Nice Engine
  • Gone Fishing
  • Thomas’ Shortcut
  • The Afternoon Tea Express

Thomas & Friends: Spills & Thrills comes with a free storybook and includes a range of special bonus features such as The Earl’s Quiz, Who’s That Engine? and Mr Perkin’s Story Time. Needless to say it was a huge hit with my 2 and 4 year olds and we’ve watched it three times today! They loved the new character and the links between each episode are definitely worth watching too.
