book review Christmas crafts What I'm reading

What I’m reading: Christmas crafting by Catherine Woram

I love to craft with my children and since Little Sis started nursery two mornings a week those times are quickly becoming craft time with my 3 year old. He loves to craft but it’s difficult to juggle two children with different needs and abilities so now we take our opportunities by planning in advance! We spent this morning making fun glitter tree cards. They were so simple; cut out a Christmas tree shape from a piece of card, place over a sheet of paper, glue liberally and sprinkle with glitter. Oh my.

It was the first time we had ever used glitter at home and will definitely be the last! It’s every where! The end result is pretty cute though 🙂

The idea came from Christmas Crafting by Catherine Woram which I was sent to review. The book contains 35 projects for the home and for giving over 5 chapters: decorations, table settings, cards, giftwrap & labels; edible gifts and for children.

The projects are lovely and some will make it to the top of our Christmas crafting list! I really want to see how my son gets on with paper snowflakes. After that these cute snow globes are a must and something I’ve always wanted to make.

These felt cone reindeer are pretty fun too!

I love the red and white theme which runs through the book although there are plenty of other colour combinations too, the table settings section feature lots of ideas. We’ll be sticking with red and white this year as I think it looks really festive. How many days do I have left to get creating?
