Crafty Creatures by Jane Bull

From award-winning author Jane Bull, Crafty Creatures offers 30 adorable animal projects to knit or stitch. Style your own Knitten (knitted kitten), dress up the Bunny girls, and meet the Minimals – tiny animal friends that fit in a matchbox. This is a lovely craft book for children and mine really enjoyed looking through it with me. They love small toys so we chose to make the cute Minimals.

The children chose from the eight Minimal templates, helped me pick the colours and I got to work on them. They were easy to whip up whilst watching Bake Off! The children love them and as soon as I find some empty match boxes they will be decorating match box homes for them.

The four chapters are Woolly animals, Friends in Felt, Sew Cute and Animals in stitches and cover knitting, felt, sewing and embroidery. Each project is clearly set out with a template, list of supplies and step by step illustrations. There’s also a section which covers basic techniques and how-tos for those new to crafting, making these perfect family projects.

Although my children are too young to attempt any of the projects yet this is a book we will have lots of fun with as they learn to craft. The book is published by DK and costs £12.99. More information can be found here.

These are adorable! I reckon even I might be able to do this. Have you heard of Donna Wilson? She has a similarly cute crafty book that I have made things from that you might like.
