How to make an Origami Farm

I was recently sent a brilliant craft book called Origami Farm by Mario Ono to review. The books shows you how to make 35 farmyard favourites in an instant.

Origami FarmMake a barn full of amazing animals with this fun collection of projects based around farmyard animals and crops. There’s a sheep dog, chicken, lamb, pig and rabbit to fold from the animals section, then apples, corn, pumpkins and tomatoes that are grown in the fields. Also included is a scarecrow to keep your crops safe, plus a farmhouse for the farmer to live in.

Every project comes with simple instructions and clear photographs, there are even helpful arrows to show you where to fold the paper. Each project also has a handy skills rating so you can work your way through the projects as you master this ancient skill of origami. The best thing about this book is that it includes 50 specially designed pieces of origami paper so you don’t need to buy anything but this book!

I think it’s a great idea to sell the book with the papers. My only, very small, criticism is that I haven’t found the papers anywhere else. However, you could colour copy them or just practise on normal paper until you perfect your technique. I can’t wait to see what the author comes up with next!

Origami Farm by Mario Ono is published by CICO Books at £14.99, and is available from all good bookshops or call 01256 302699.

This looks like a great book! I loved origami when I was younger, might have to buy a copy for my nephews! x
