Christmas reviews

Afternoon tea?

Can I be smug and say I’ve done 95% of my Christmas shopping? It stresses me out every year and the only way I can cope is to be organised, make lists, purchase and wrap. We’re having Christmas at home (our last in this house) so I’m happy to be organised and swap gifts with family before the big day.

The lovely people at Lakeland who sell wonderful Christmas hampers contacted me and asked if I would like to review one of them. They sent me an adorable  St Kew Teacup Basket:

teacup basket with contents for afternoon tea

It’s a small (but beautifully formed) hamper which holds a few tasty treats for all the family. This is a great gift for a foodie as St Kew make their traditional biscuits, preserves and confectionery to old-fashioned recipes. Perfect for afternoon tea the basket contains Strawberries & Cream Shortbread, Fabulous Oatie Flips, Strawberry & Champagne Conserve and English Breakfast Tea, in a quirky teacup and saucer willow basket.

Although the contents were quite tasty they didn’t last long in a family of four. Which is why I’m thinking I might pop into Lakeland and pick one up for my mother. It’s her birthday in a week or two and the contents are great for tea for two. The thrifty lady will also be able to re-use the basket  as a planter in her new conservatory.

Priced as £16.99 it’s a little big for a stocking filler but great value for money all year round.
