Gingerbread house finds sewing vintage

Gingerbread house finds

I’m not quite sure what made me buy these.

I have a thing for souvenirs of London and thought they were kind of kitsch.

There was a set of four on a shelf, featuring a view of Leicester Square, Soho Square, Sloane Square and Berkeley Square. I’m a proud Londoner and knew I wanted the Leicester Square and Soho Square tins. Pre-children I had a pretty good social life and loved going out in the West End.

Charity shop guilt kicked in though. How could I leave two tins on the shelf when they were clearly part of a set? The problem was that Sloane Square and Berkeley Square have no meaning for me as a North London girl. Anyway, each one was a pound so I picked them all up. Two of them might be going back to a charity shop very soon!

I also bought these vintage packs of sewing needles. I love the fact they’ve never been used and made me smile as I never use the free gifts from magazines either!
