Cath Kidston Olympics

Top Olympic souvenirs for under £20

Ever since our Olympic tickets arrived the excitement has been ramping up in our house. I’ve had to promise not to buy any more Olympic souvenirs but I couldn’t resist writing about all my purchases in one post. Here are my top Olympic souvenirs for under £20:

olympic souvenirs

Biscuits and tin from Marks & Spencer in the shape of the Olympic logo. So far I haven’t done very well keeping my souvenir tins pristine. The Royal Wedding tin I bought last year quickly got adopted as the crayon tin and toddler-fied.

Pampers Olympic nappies to keep little bottoms in style

The Happyland Track set from the elc which I spotted in the latest issue of Gurgle magazine looks fun and you could pick the winner everytime!

Collectibles from Hornby

Scrapbook from Cath Kidston to fill with our Olympic memories

olympics minifigures

My final fave is 8909 Olympics Collectible Minifigures which is a special series of Minifigures released for the London 2012 Olympic Games. It features nine athletes in Team GB sports gear. My husband has been busy trying to figure out how to tell which minifigure is in which packet (something to do with bumps on the packet if you’re interested!). So far I’ve got 6 out of the 9.

I love these kind of souvenirs but my husband and I were wondering if anyone else buys such things for their children to play with or to keep on their behalf? Neither of us have any commemorative souvenirs that our parents put away for us (or if they did we don’t have them!) so we’re not sure why we started to do it. I just hope we can keep them safe until the children are old enough to appreciate them and they don’t eBay them when they hit 18!

I was in the UK for 3 weeks and picked up a number of Olympic souvenirs: coin & stamp sets, stamps (used on postcards for friends), T-shirt, some of those mini figurines (rather wish they labeled them so you’d know which one you were getting), Cadbury’s Olympic medals (obviously won’t last long!) and a couple pins. As I don’t live in the UK I felt like I needed to stock up while I could.
