Coughs and sneezes

The downside of having one child at nursery and a newborn too is that the older sibling tends to bring home germs, along with his paintings and scuffed knees. Ever since Big Brother started nursery late last year he’s had an endless runny nose and cough. I spend all weekend feeding him up in the hope he’ll have a strong enough constitution to fight off the germs! Thankfully this warmer weather seems to be helping so I’m hoping we’ll be germ free until autumn. All this has meant that poor Little Sis had her first cold within weeks of being born. It was heartbreaking to watch her sneeze and cough knowing there was little I could do about it.

A rise in temperature is one of the first tale-tale signs a child could be poorly. So we were more than happy to try the new closer to nature Digital Ear Thermometer from tommee tippee.

The speedy thermometer keeps track of baby’s temperature quickly and accurately; simply place the tip in your little one’s ear and press the scan button – then after just 1 second, an accurate temperature reading will show clearly on the easy to read LCD display. It has a tiny tip making it safe for newborn babies, as well as the whole of the family and is also really easy to operate – giving you one less thing to worry about!

Other great features of the closer to nature Digital Ear Thermometer include:
