baking Halloween crafts reviews

Spooky cobweb cupcakes

As regular readers will know I just love baking and try to bake something new every week. I was very excited when offered a new cupcake book to review. For the Love of Cupcakes by Ann Nicol is an illustrated book offering step-by-step instructions to show just how easy it is to make your own cute culinary creations that have become such a phenomenon!

Read up on the essential equipment, ingredients, basic methods and recipes, and decorating tips, before choosing from the exciting range of inventive cupcake recipes, from dainty cakes such as Crystallised Violet Cupcakes or rich and indulgent chocolate creations like Chocolate Mud Cupcakes. Ann Nicol is a well-respected cookery writer, editor and stylist who has written for BBC Good Food, Women’s Weekly and Best – this lady knows her sponges from her muffins!

We made the spooky cobweb cupcakes just in time for Halloween. The recipe was well laid out and easy to follow. Our cupcakes don’t look exactly like the ones in the book but were not bad for our first attempt and tasted delicious!

Flame Tree is producing 22 recipe eBooks, ranging from tasty deserts to vegetarian dishes to Asian appetizers, all easy to follow and with 20 exciting recipes per eBook. This eBook is available in the UK, the US and Canada from iBookstore and is iPad, iPhone and iPod friendly, and a hard copy is also available. Perfect for families in a hurry or just looking to try something different – this range of books is brilliant.
