baby Quinny Caster Quinny Zapp Xtra

QuinnyCasters News #7

When the people at Dorel (who own the Quinny brand) heard that the Quinny Zapp Xtra fell over with the Maxi-Cosi car seat they recalled the chassis to take a look at it. It was examined at the service centre and fully inspected and tested by their Head Engineer. No faults were found with the chassis or breaking system and everything works as it should.

I’m not sure whether I’m pleased or not. I expected it to have a fault as surely a pushchair would not be made which could not support the weight of the car seat it is recommended to use with it. I understand that the Quinny Zapp Xtra is a light weight stroller but it is almost too light weight! Dorel reminded me that as a precautionary measure, when used on public transport, the Quinny should be held on to whilst the bus is in motion.

The other day we had our first bus ride since the incident and I held on to the Quinny for dear life (and probably looked a bit silly). However, there were no problems on the journey and we’ve been using it ever since. It is really easy to push around so we’ve been to Sing and Sign, to the shopping mall and to the local shops without any problems.

We’ve also used the rain cover in the recent wet weather. Edward was slightly bemused as there was no opening in it for me to put my hand through but it did the job!
