I was recently sent a humongous tub of Astral to review. I’m the first to admit I’m not really a beauty product junkie but I do like affordable products with many uses.
Astral has been around since 1950 and is regarded as a real cult beauty buy, perfect for all ages, it offers a face and body all over moisturiser. It is also really versatile and can be used as a night cream, make-up remover, to give your legs that special shine for the party season or as an every day moisturiser. It’s great for this time of year when skin gets dry easily.
New research by Astral indicates that 1 in 5 women are embarrassed by their dry skin, a complaint which can affect all ages especially the more mature skin. Astral has something to offer all ages, it’s very reasonably priced so available to everyone, it retails at the following prices (in key stockist Superdrug):
· 50ml – ‘the handbag pot’, which is perfect for on-the-go indulgence (£1.52)
· 200ml – with all the different uses of Astral, you can keep one by the bed, one in the bathroom, one by the kitchen sink or any place where it might come in handy (£4.28)
· 500ml – Astral prides itself on being a premium quality product with a great value price (£8.16). With the 500ml pot, you get even more for your money.
I wouldn’t describe myself as having particularly ‘mature’ skin and in a way I think that might be slightly off-putting, but I have been enjoying using it. I found it a little greasy to use during the day but it’s great as an all-over moisturiser or especially at night time.
It’s used by lots of celebs too, I think Joanna Lumley is the best known but also Amanda Holden, Kate Beckinsale, Patsy Kensit and Sam Faiers from TOWIE all swear by the benefits of using Astral.
I’ve mentioned the Everyday Effect before, basically the everyday things that us mums do for our family which make all the difference. P&G have made it their mission to make products which help towards making everyday life that little bit better. With Father’s Day round the corner, P&G want to help the Dad in your family see how the things they think are ordinary are, in fact, quite the opposite.
A recent survey by P&G found that small treats from their children made Dads feel more appreciated, so to wish the Dad in your family a happy Father’s Day I have a lovely treat of P&G goodies up for grabs so Dad can enjoy a bit of the Everyday Effect too!
Take a look at this short film called “the Daddy Effect” which shows children talking about their Dads:
The treats include the little things your man probably uses everyday:
Head & Shoulders 2in1 Classic Clean Shampoo
Shockwaves Re-create Styling Wax
Gillette Fusion Proglide Razor
Gillette Fusion Proglide Blades
Gillette Series Moisturiser
Duracell Plus Power Batteries

I love working with P&G and today I wanted to tell you about a really exciting programme they are running which will help save lives – the P&G and Asda Clean Water Campaign. The brilliant news is we can all get involved simply through our weekly shop and help support their goal of saving one life every hour by 2020 through providing clean, safe water.
I was sent a P&G water purification demo kit so I could see for myself the technology in action. It’s amazing how these little sachets easily turn dirty water into clean, safe drinking water in just 30 minutes.
From tomorrow until the 8th May, Mums in Britain can help make a difference just by doing their weekly shop. P&G has partnered with Asda and for every pack of a P&G product purchased, they will donate one days’ clean drinking water.
After the 8th May, a number of P&G products (including brands such as Gillette, Ariel, Fairy and Pantene) which bear the 1 pack = 1 day’s clean drinking water logo will continue to trigger a donation to the Campaign.
If you would like to help the programme but don’t usually buy any of these products you can still help by visiting the P&G UK and Ireland Facebook page as every like or share will trigger a donation of a day’s drinking water to the P&G and Asda Clean Water Campaign.
