P&G and Asda Clean Water Campaign

I love working with P&G and today I wanted to tell you about a really exciting programme they are running which will help save lives – the P&G and Asda Clean Water Campaign.  The brilliant news is we can all get involved simply through our weekly shop and help support their goal of saving one life every hour by 2020 through providing clean, safe water.

I was sent a P&G water purification demo kit so I could see for myself the technology in action. It’s amazing how these little sachets easily turn dirty water into clean, safe drinking water in just 30 minutes.

From tomorrow until the 8th May, Mums in Britain can help make a difference just by doing their weekly shop. P&G has partnered with Asda and for every pack of a P&G product purchased, they will donate one days’ clean drinking water.

After the 8th May, a number of P&G products (including brands such as Gillette, Ariel, Fairy and Pantene) which bear the 1 pack = 1 day’s clean drinking water logo will continue to trigger a donation to the Campaign.

If you would like to help the programme but don’t usually buy any of these products you can still help by visiting the P&G UK and Ireland Facebook page as every like or share will trigger a donation of a day’s drinking water to the P&G and Asda Clean Water Campaign.

Win a beauty goody bag!

What does Mother’s Day mean to you? To be honest I don’t need a Hallmark card to make me feel special. I love looking after my children and a card or meal doesn’t make me feel any more or less loved (although I won’t say no if I’m offered a present!). Looking after children of any age can be as hard as it is rewarding. Sometimes the overflowing wash basket and uneaten meals literally make me cry. But most of the time my heart swells when I see the toddler learning a new word or his little sister walking across the room unaided.

Do you realise that the favourite Thomas tshirt you wash so your son can wear it the next day makes him really happy. Or the messy baking sessions which fill your child with confidence that lasts all day? Those little things we do everyday have a real impact on the whole family.

Take a look at this cute video called “the Mummy Effect”, which shows how the things mum do which seem quite ordinary are, in fact, quite the opposite to their children. To help celebrate the fact there is extraordinary potential in every moment (no matter how ordinary they seem) I’ve been given a goody bag filled with P&G beauty products to giveaway to one of my readers.

Revive hand cream – Hotel chocolat

I’m constantly washing my hands after changing bottoms, wiping noses, before preparing meals and snacks. My hands really suffer, especially during the winter months, so I always carry hand cream with me.

Hotel Chocolat have branched out to beauty products and I was sent a tube of Revive hand cream from their Coca Juvenate range to try. The Coca Juvenate is a new range of exclusive spa treatments perfected on their Saint Lucien cocoa estate. The range includes body oil, hand cream, lip balm, body wash, and candles. As you would expect, cocoa is a key ingredients as it is rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.

The hand cream is great, super rich yet instantly absorbed, it contains Organic West Indian cocoa, shea butter, mango seed oil and honey which helps smooth and moisturise your skin. It costs a rather pricey £18 for 100ml.

I never expected Hotel Chocolat to produce beauty products and it’s not a place I would even think of looking for such things. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the hand cream which smells lovely and left my hands beautifully soft. It’s a bit expensive for my budget but would make a lovely gift for a great mum this Mother’s Day. Forget chocolate, this year it’s all about the beauty products!
