Day Zero – Month 9 (June)

I love the end of a month, it feels really satisfying to think of all the things I’ve done or made, the events I’ve attended, people I’ve met and the new skills that Edward has picked up. June has been busy for me, it’s the month where I’ve had lunch with the Olympian Steve Parry, had my hair styled by Michael Douglas and my photograph taken with Sarah Brown. I’ve been crippled with tooth ache and had an emergency trip to the dental hospital and also had sunstroke. Pregnancy is making me feel tired but today I found out I could have the caesarean I wanted. A month of extreme highs and lows.

It’s been satisfying to cross a few more actions from my Day Zero list:

56. Go to an Olympic event in London in 2012

My goal of attending an event at the Olympic park came one step nearer when we found we had tickets for synchronised swimming.

58. Have a pedicure

I finally had my first pedicure at Cybermummy thanks to the lovely people at Crocs (who gave me a pair of Crocs too!).

79. Win a Maclaren pushchair!

Well I didn’t win a new pushchair but I was sent a Petite Star Zia and Mamas and Papas Voyage to test. We love both of them.

86. Make a bib kerchief

Made a bib kerchief as part of a swap package for the Secret Post Club

87. Make a soft rattle

Made a soft rattle as part of a swap package for the Secret Post Club

100. Attend Cybermummy 2011

I was fortunate to be sponsored to attend Cybermummy by NurseryValue.com and I really enjoyed myself.

Cybermummy11

Today was the day that Cybermummy11 took place at The Brewery in London. Thanks to my fabulous sponsors, NurseryValue.com I spent the day with lots of like-minded parents, learning how to improve my blog.

I started the morning with a bit of a hair makeover from Michael Douglas. We had a good gossip about the celebs he has worked with and he’s a lovely guy (and great hairdresser!).

The keynote speech was given by Sarah Brown who spoke about how and why she uses twitter, her charity work and making sure her children had normal family time when they were at No. 10. I think she’s great and was delighted when she agreed to have a photo with me.

There were lots of sessions to choose from and I’m not sure I always picked the right ones. I’m looking forward to reading about the other sessions and picking up some useful tips.

Some of the other highlights of the day were taking part in the New Mums/Mums to Be bloggers photograph, chatting to lots of brands in CyberMummy Central and my first pedicure!

I really enjoyed listening to bloggers reading their blog posts and finding out I’ve won a trip to Disney World! I brought home lots of swag, fortunately almost all of it was targeted at young children so Edward has gone to bed very happily with two new soft toys :)

Cybermummy countdown

Only a couple of sleeps until Cybermummy 11 so I thought I would take the opportunity to write down my thoughts before the event.

I’m really looking forward to it. My husband will be spending the day with Edward so I don’t have to worry about them both, they will be having heaps of fun without me.  I keep looking at the schedule and trying to decide what talks to go to. I’m really looking forward to hearing Sarah Brown speak, she’s my twitter crush. I was lucky to win a copy of her book and can’t wait to hear what she has to say, I just wish she was speaking for longer than 20 mins.

I’m still deciding between the morning sessions as I want to attend a few: marketing your blog or social networking, and later working with brands and making money or keeping your blog legal. They all sound interesting and relevant. I think I’ve definitely decided that the afternoon sessions will be blogging essentials and getting to know and love WordPress.

What I’m taking:

I’ll be wearing a tshirt from my lovely Cybermummy sponsor NurseryValue.com

My Moo business cards and Cath Kidston business card holder

My moleskine to take lots of notes

My favourite Orla Kiely tote and Orla Kiely pen

A snack or two as I’m pregnant and constantly hungry

My Bump on Board badge so people can see I’m pregnant and not fat!

My camera and fully charged iPhone

I’m booked in for a pedicure during the lunch break and I’m also hoping to meet some brands and enter as many competitions as I can. I think by 6 I will be shattered so may slope off before the party begins for a cuddle with my little man and a takeaway. I can’t wait to meet lots of like minded bloggers and am looking forward to a great day.
