ideas for a sensational spring

The sun is shining today and I am very happy  to host a guest post from Becky at Baby Budgeting. Becky’s blog is dedicated to making and saving money as well as living as creatively as possible with an under 5 on a budget.

Over to Becky:

My children and I love to read and libraries are one of our most frequent hangouts. We have been reading Spring books (getting in the mood) for a while now. In honour of world book day this week here are a couple of our favourite that we are sure you will like too.

The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle: Picture Puffin (1997)

Seeds are a wonderful part of Spring and this is just the perfect story to start to think about how they grow. Eric Carle is as fabulous as ever and this is a marvelous story. When the tiny seed is blown away from its parent plant, it travels a very long way – over seas, deserts and mountains. The tiny seed survives the hazards of the journey and finally falls onto fertile earth. It grows and grows, becoming the tallest, biggest flower for miles around. A great book to preorder from the library.

These book reviews as well as a host of Spring crafts, songs, poems, baking ideas and all the Spring festivals can be found in my new ebook. 50 ideas for a sensational spring fun on a budget with under 5’s

Seaborne Baby Sponge

Tippitoes has introduced an exciting addition to its bathroom range, the natural Seaborne Baby Sponge which is 100% natural and extracted from the sea bed. Thanks to its natural porous properties, it’s perfect for gently exfoliating and cleansing baby’s skin.

We were sent a Seaborne Baby Sponge to try and I was surprised to find that it came in a plastic tub – I’ve never bought a sponge in a container before! I rinsed the sponge before use as instructed and we used it at bath time this evening.

Edward wasn’t too sure what to make of the sponge as it looks completely different to the one we’ve previously used, a soft PVA sponge. In fact he wouldn’t even touch the natural sponge, probably as he’s never seen or touched anything like it before. The Seaborne Baby Sponge is surprisingly soft and lovely and easy to use to wash a little one. I would recommend the product and look forward to using it again.

Maclaren Kid Testing

We’ve now been using our lovely beginning….bath products at every bath time for the last week. Edward is taking his responsibilities as a Maclaren Kid Tester very seriously and we’ve been looking at each product, having a chew on the packaging and smelling each bottle before use.

Bath time is usually quite simple as we generally only use E45 bath oil but we’ve been pleasantly surprised how easy it’s been to incorporate the Maclaren range of products during and after Edward’s bath time. Edward loves the bath products, they make his skin very soft and help him relax. We usually bath him before bed and they seem to put him in the right frame of mind to wind down.

The products are simple to use: we added the calming bath milk and soap during the bath, after the bath we used the dusting powder, nappy balm and the room mist). The products are a lovely added extra to bath time. We’re looking forward to using the candle and massage oil. Each product smells divine too :)
