Both my children have had eczema. Fortunately they’ve grown out of as they’ve got older, except for poor Little Sis who has small patches of it behind her knees. I was recommended Soothing Baby Balm by Green People which really helped the itching and dry skin. So when they got in touch about reviewing their certified organic toiletries range for children I was very happy to try other products.
We were sent Baby Wash & Shampoo as well as a new Shampoo, both were tried out by the children at bath time. The toddler chose the Berry Smoothie Scented Shampoo (which officially launches on the 1st July) so Little Sis tried out the Baby Wash & Shampoo.
Both products smelled lovely and left skin and hair shiny and clean. The products are Certified Organic and suitable for children who might be prone to eczema, psoriasis and skin allergies as well as those with sensitive skin. I love to use organic products as I’ve seen how irritated Little Sis gets when her skin itches. The Baby Wash & Shampoo was perfect for her delicate skin and the lavender helped her calm down before bedtime. It’s also gentle enough that it can be used everyday.
Green People products are not tested on animals and never contain any nasties such as SLS, parabens, lanolin or phthalates. Organic Babies and Children products are available through selected John Lewis, Ocado, Independent Health stores and online at www.greenpeople.co.uk
I often find bath times can be quite stressful with two children. Lately I’ve been putting the baby in her bath in the big bath with the toddler. This way they both have a bath and seem to enjoy each others’ company. The baby loves kicking her feet and splashing and the toddler loves playing with water. It sounds like it should be fun but it’s not for me. I seem to constantly tell the toddler to sit down, be careful, don’t splash and other boring parenting phrases.
To bring back some fun we’ve been trying some new baby bath toys from Flexi Bath – a little table which attaches to the side of the bath and a tea-making set. The toddler had great fun, making me pretend cups of tea and pouring water over himself. Flexi Bath also make the intriguing hard plastic bathtub for children which folds up flat!
The bath toys are lovely and colourful and have been giving the children lots of fun. I really like the fact they are so simple because my toddler just loves playing with water and these are now the first toys he reaches for. More importantly the cups, jugs and funnel are safe, easy to keep clean and eco friendly as they are free from PVC, Phthalates, BPA, heavy metals and other harmful materials.

Edward has suffered from dry skin since birth so we were really excited to try out the new products from E45 which cater for sensitive skin. The range consists of E45 Junior Foaming Bath Milk, E45 Junior Moisturising Lotion and E45 Junior Hand and Body Wash.
We’ve been using the products for the last couple of weeks and have really enjoyed them. Fortunately Edward loves bathtime and his bathroom is full of various products we’ve used to try and ease his dry skin. Many baby products contain SLS which really irritates his skin so we were excited to learn that the E45 range does not included SLS. The Foaming Bath Milk is easily our favourite product as it has two layers which you shake to combine! You can imagine how much fun Edward has with this! It also produces lots of bubbles and leaves his skin feeling soft and moisturised.
We were also sent Hand and Body Wash and Moisturising Lotion which we used together with the Bath Milk. All three products are perfume and soap free, really enhance bath time for us and have a great effect on Edward’s skin. The only other product we would have liked to see is a shampoo to complete the range. Edward still has a tiny bit of cradle cap and it would be great to have a sensitive shampoo which could also treat this!
For more information on the range check out the E45 Junior website which contains lots of information for parents on caring for children’s dry and sensitive skin conditions. There is also information on E45 Junior’s partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and Peppa Pig activity sheets that are available for download to help keep children entertained this summer, as well as information on Peppa’s Big Bubble Bash!
