Monday Happy List – week 79

I’ve really struggled with what to post today. I love my weekly feature of writing about my 5 favourite things from the previous week. However for once I felt stuck.

We’re currently away on holiday in Devon and I’ve been enjoying relaxing so much more than writing on my blog. We usually stay in an amazing little fisherman’s cottage on the beach. We all love it and it’s come to feel like a second home (how I wish it was!). So this week’s Monday Happy List is all about the things we’re enjoying whilst we’re away from home.

I love how these old boots have been upcycled to make planters. I couldn’t identify if anything but weeds were growing in them but they looked great all hung up on a wall.

The weather has been mainly sunshine and showers and the children have been enjoying the finest things from a British seaside holiday. Ice creams are so much more exotic than when I was young!

The children have been out on the beach as often as they can. They’ve been digging for treasure, set up a beach kitchen, buried each other in the sand and built lots of sand castles.

This colourful display of mooring buoys is next to our cottage. I would love to take a couple home for our garden but they are all safely tied up!

I have been kept busy washing the treasures my children have been finding on the beach. So far we have piles of broken blue and white chine, sea shells, pebbles with white lines going through them and sea glass. Expect some beach crafts from us soon.
