Monday Happy Things – week 69

Time for my weekly Monday Happy Things post.

My son has joined our local Beavers group and went along to his first session. He really enjoyed himself so I’m hoping he’ll stick with it.  This week he also started Maths Club and Football Club. Both of these are only for a term but he was happy with the first week. I wasn’t so happy with the additional trips to school so I’m grateful we live close to school.

I’ve been decluttering magazines, part of a wider tidy up of the house which seems to happen every January. I was amazed I had kept so many old copies of Patchwork and Quilting and Mollie Makes and quite enjoyed sitting down and flicking through them again. I took out any patterns I wanted to make and can never complain I have nothing to make.

I had a girly day with my daughter on Saturday. We went shopping and out for lunch and it felt good to have some time to ourselves not bound by the school day.

We had snow, albeit a very light covering, it was enough to build a small snowman in the garden.

I’ve nearly finished my Liberty quilt, only two more edges to bind and it will be finished. There are a couple of things I want to make this year so although I’m enjoying making it I also want to get on and make the other quilts too.

January makes me want to throw out everything and clean the cobwebs away too!
