Building a Chocolate House

I am really looking forward to lots of crafting time over half term. My 4 year old has a long list of things to make, bake and craft which I couldn’t be happier about. Today we made a Chocolate House which was a choc on choc kit so everything was included – the chocolate beans, moulds, garden scene and chef’s hat.

I melted the beans using a small silicone pot in the microwave which made pouring the melted chocolate really easy. I used the white chocolate for the four walls and the milk chocolate for the roof and trees. The mould makes a small house and if you leave a small amount of the white chocolate beans there’s enough to ‘cement’ the walls and roof together.

My 4 year old enjoyed colouring in the garden scene whilst we waited for the chocolate to set.

We loved the kit and the moulds can be used again so I’d love to experiment to see if we can decorate the house with icing and sweets, or even use other coloured chocolate to make a fairy house.

The kit is aimed at 4+ but I have to be honest and say I enjoyed melting the chocolate and making the house myself!

Other choc on choc Melt & Make kits include Make Your Own Chocolate London which looks fantastic, chocolate lollipops and chocolate eggs – perfect for budding chocolatiers.

Each Melt & Make pack includes instructions along with a chef’s hat, specially-designed moulds and the cement mix, which comes in the form of tasty chocolate buttons that are ready to be melted down.

Adult supervision required. Each kit is priced at £12.99 and available at choconchoc.co.uk
