I seem to be having more baking disasters than I do successes lately. Today I thought I would make some gingerbread men from my new book – Mary Berry’s Baking Bible. Everything was going really well, the mixture smelt delicious but when I turned it out it just wouldn’t come together. Instead of gingerbread men I made big fat gingerbread cookies which tasted good, it was just a shame about their appearance.
I made quite a mess in the kitchen as the sticky mixture seemed to get everywhere – I might have been a little frustrated!

First of all I tried the kitchen cleaner which had a gentle clementine fragrance and gave such good results I went slightly mad and used it on the oven and kitchen cupboards too.
