Gingerbread house finds vintage

Gingerbread house finds

I have been in my favourite stomping ground over the last few days which means charity shop heaven for me! I’ve picked up some lovely bargains both for myself and the children. Besides lots of Thomas the Tank Engine books and jigsaws for Big Brother I found this book of vintage cigarette cards I just couldn’t resist.

They’re displayed in a cardboard book which is missing its cover but there are some lovely images on the cards. They are all from Wills cigarette packets. My grandmother worked in the Wills factory in Swindon before she got married so these cards are a nice link with her.

I also came across books of Brooke Bond and PG Tips cards. I don’t really remember these but I thought they might be fun for Big Brother to look through when he’s a bit older.

I think my son is inheriting my love of rooting through charity shops. In one shop he went behind the counter as he had spotted a Thomas the Tank Engine puzzle! It wasn’t until we got the puzzle home that we realised there was a piece missing (which is probably why it was behind the counter in the first place!).

Big WOW for that haul, i have quite a few teacard albums and bunches of cards, hardly any train ones though but would love to find more! I managed to buy so much this week, and all for so little. I would like to blame it on car boot season starting up again, but half of what i found were in the charity shops! Now ive just added all the photos to my blog i cant believe how much i came home with! Aqeela xx

I wish I could find a decent car boot sale near me but I have to make do with charity shops!
