I’m always on the lookout for products to help Big Brother’s dry skin. The eczema he’s had since he was a baby seems to have dried up but he still has dry skin which gets worse when he has a new tooth coming through. We’ve experiments with lots of different products with varying degrees of success.
Cetaphil Restoraderm is a clinically prove, therapeutic skincare range which helps to reduce the dryness, irritation and redness of eczema prone skin. The range comprises of the Cetaphil Restoraderm Skin Restoring Body Wash and Moisturiser and it can be used by adults, children and babies from 3 months.
Cetaphil Restoraderm Skin Restoring Body Wash includes skin-nourishing oils in a soap-free foaming wash that cleanses while avoiding irritation and drying of the skin. It is designed to be used daily and
- gently cleanses and moisturises the skin while restoring the skins barrier function
- contains allantoin to help alleviate dryness, itching and irritation
- provides long-lasting moisture in a rich foam which rinses easily
- contains shea butter and sunflower oil to restore and preserve moisture content and smooth the skin
- contains no fragrances, nut oils, parabens or lanolin
The moisturiser complements the body wash and
- uses filaggrin breakdown products to help restore moisture to the skin
- contains ceremides to help enhance the skin’s ability to retain moisture
- contains allantoin and panthenol to soothe and alleviate itchy skin
- is free of preservatives, fragrances, nut oils, parabens and lanolin
- non-greasy and absorbs quickly
We’ve been using the products during and after bath time. Both products are simple to apply and the moisturiser has a handy pump which makes it easy to use when manhandling a toddler. I found the moisturiser quite greasy but it did absorb quickly which was a bonus. Using both products did seem to ease the dryness of Big Brothers skin and stopped him itching and scratching one problem area which was a bonus. I will definitely continue using both products and would recommend them.
