Monday Happy List

    Five Happy Things {Week 496}

    bluebells in Ruislip Woods

    Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while over the last few years. It is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.

    Five Happy Things {Week 496}

    Last week was tough juggling with work with the kids still being off school for the Easter holidays. Thankfully the weather was good so they spent a lot of time out on their bikes with their friends. We took them climbing to the indoor climbing centre and played a new game, Power Hungry Pets.

    I’ve been reading Greenbanks by Dorothy Whipple, the third book I’ve read by her this year. I read about someone who only let themselves read one of her books a year, to ration them. I’m really enjoying her novels so I’m torn between reading them all, or rationing them.

    Have you noticed that the bluebells are out. We took our dog for a walk in Ruislip Woods this morning and the bluebells were really pretty. The woods were quiet so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.

    I signed up to the Stage 2 Family History Skills course with the Society of Genealogists. I’ve already completed the Stage 1 course and Stage.3 course so I thought it made sense to do the middle one. I’m learning a lot although family history feels like my winter hobby so I don’t have as much time for it at the moment.

    On Saturday Little Sis and I went into London to discover The Little Egg Trail around Sloane Square, and the SmileyWorld art trail at Battersea Power Station. We walked a lot, but also visited the Lego Store at Battersea Power Station. The weather was so lovely we had a picnic in the sunshine (and rested our tired feet!).
