Day Zero – Month 11 (August)

Posted on August 29, 2011July 28, 2012 by jenny

There’s something to be said for a wet summer! My Day Zero list has taken a beating and I’ve managed quite a few of my tasks. In case you’ve forgotten on the 19 September 2010 I started a Day Zero list: a place to record your goals, discover new challenges, and gain motivation to achieve them. I have a list of 100 things I want to do over 1001 days. The list is due to be competed by 16 June 2013.

18. Bake a Union Jack cake

I had so much fun with this task. It took a while but was worth it. I was speaking to my sister who had a bit of a melt down because her cake didn’t turn out so well. I had to admit that I may have had some help from my husband 🙂

35. Make a video of Edward’s first 12 months in photographs

Check out 365 days of Edward in photographs over on my baby blog.

37. Make Julia Child’s Boeuf Bourguignon recipe

Inspired by the film Julie and Julia I made it. Best. Meal. Ever.

40. Watch 26 movies I’ve never seen starting with each letter of the Alphabet

We’ve been enjoying watching films after Edward goes to bed and seen the following over the last 6 months:

  • The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
  • The Baader Meinhof Complex
  • Cemetery Junction
  • Doubt
  • The Expendables
  • Four Christmases
  • Gran Torino
  • Harry Brown
  • I love you Phillip Morris
  • Julie and Julia
  • The Kingdom
  • London Boulevard
  • Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day
  • Nine
  • The Other Guys
  • The Pianist
  • John Q
  • Run, Fat Boy, Run
  • The Sorcerer’s Apprentice
  • True Grit
  • U-571
  • La Vie En Rose
  • The Wrestler
  • X-Files I Want To Believe
  • Y Tu Mama Tambien
  • Attack Force Z

59. Successfully grow herbs

We’ve been enjoying some home grown produce and herbs with our food lately.

63. Scan my historical photographs

All scanned and backed up 🙂

    Brilliant.

Did the film ignite your interest in Julia Child’s cooking, or were you already a fan?

To be honest I hadn’t heard of Julia Child’s before I heard about the film! Another cook book to purchase to add to my collection 🙂
